I made these the other day along with a tray of other goodies. I told the five teenagers that were at my house that these were cookie dough dipped in chocolate and in a matter of seconds they gobbled these up. If you want to get really creative you could drizzle white chocolate or dip in coloured sprinkles etc.

1 cup butter
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup brown sugar packed
1 teaspoon salt
2 ½ cups flour
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
⅓ cup milk
1 cup mini chocolate chips

14 oz. dark or milk chocolate chips
1 11/2 Tablespoon shortening

Beat butter and sugars together in a large bowl with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add milk and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda, and salt and mix on low speed until combined. Stir in mini chocolate chips.
Cover and chill dough for 1 hour.
When dough is firm enough to handle and form into 1” balls and arrange on a baking sheets lined with parchment or wax paper. Place in freezer and let chill for 30 minutes.
Melt chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until melted. Using a two forks, dip cookie balls into chocolate to cover. Place on the parchment/wax paper lined cookie sheets. Chill until set. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Yield: 3-4 dozen
