This cake is  exceptionally moist and flavorful. The recipe begins with a standard boxed cake mix however with the addition of few special ingredients this cake is elevated to  "show stopper" status. All too often you hear folks saying "no cake for me, I don't like sweet icing" but once they try this one they become addicted to it !!!!! Throw away all your other recipes as this will be the only cake you will be ask to bake!!!!

  • 1 (2-layer size) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup non dairy hazelnut/southern pecan  flavoured creamer (any flavor will work)
  • 1 cup Amaretto liqueur
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 (4-serving) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cup non dairy hazelnut/butter pecan flavoured creamer (any flavor will work)
  • 1/4 cup Amaretto liqueur
  • 2 cups heavy cream, whipped
  • 4 - (39 gram size) Skor bars chocolate covered toffee bars, chopped
  • 1 (39 gram size) bar chocolate candy bar or ½ cup chocolate chips, melted
  • 1 cup sliced almonds


  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour three 8- inch pans.
  1. Mix together the cake mix, 1 cup butter pecan/hazelnut flavoured creamer, 1 cup Amaretto liqueur, eggs and oil until blended. Distribute cake batter evenly between the cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for  approx.15 minutes, making certain the cake layers do not over-bake. Allow to cool completely before filling.
  1. To make the Amaretto whipped cream filling: Combine pudding mix, 1/4 cup Amaretto liqueur and 1 cup hazelnut/southern butter pecan flavoured creamer. Set aside for 5 minutes until thickened. Fold the whipped cream into the Amaretto mixture, then stir in the crushed chocolate covered toffee bars. Use to fill and frost  the cake. Drizzle cake with melted chocolate candy bar on top and press the sliced almonds on the sides of cake.. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

These are the ingredients you will need

Add cake mix, eggs, oil, Amaretto & creamer and mix

Distribute batter evenly between the three cake pans and place in oven 

Fold the pudding mixture into the whipped cream

Add in the chopped Skor chocolate bar
Spread frosting on each layer

Spread frosting on the top and sides

Place sliced almonds to the sides and drizzle melted chocolate on the top
