Tia Maria/Kahlua soaked cake with Skor chocolate bars - Nothing else to say except YUM! |
Ingredients:
1 box Angel Food Cake mix
1/2 c. Tia Maria liqueur mixed with 2 T. cream
Frosting:
2 cups heavy cream
Jello instant vanilla pudding (4-serving)
¼ cup Tia Maria liqueur *
1 cup flavoured coffee creamer (mudslide, hazelnut or any flavor of your choice)
4 Skor chocolate bars (chopped)*
Bake the cake according to the package directions in an un-greased pan. Cool cake. Cut cake into 2 layers Place each layer on a plate. Combine 1/2 cup of Tia Maria and 2 tbsp cream. Prick cake layers all over with a skewer. Drizzle Tia Maria mixture over all parts of each layer. Cover with saran wrap and chill several hours. To make the icing combine pudding mix, ¼ Tia Maria liqueur and 1 cup coffee creamer. Set aside for 5 minutes until thickened. Whipped the 2 cups of whipping cream until it reaches stiff peaks. Fold the whipped cream into the Tia Maria/pudding mixture, then stir in 3 of the chopped skor chocolate bars into the mixture. Ice cake including layers. Sprinkle the top layer with remaining 1 chopped skor chocolate bar.
Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
*You can also substitute Kahlua for the Tia Maria and Almond Roca for the Skor Bar
