This was a Pinterest find. I adapted it and changed some ingredients. This is a hearty casserole and sure to please. |
dients
375 grams bow tie pasta ( I used Catelli)
1 454 gram Johnsonville mild Italian sausage ( 5 sausage links)
1 green pepper, diced
1 large onion, medium size chopped
2 tablespoons chopped garlic
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried basil
2 (650 ml) jars spaghetti sauce (I used President’s Choice Primavera)
200 -300 grams cubed cooked ham
200 - 300 grams of thinly sliced pepperoni
6 cups (454 grams) of shredded mozzarella cheese
6 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
1. Cook pasta in boiling water until al dent é.
2. Cook sausage unjust until the juice run clear.
3. Add garlic, green pepper and onions until the vegetables are tender. Add oregano and basil and combine.
5. In a lightly greased 9 x 13 x 3 inch pan, pour a small amount of sauce to lightly coat bottom.
Layer ingredients in the order listed below.
6. 1st layer- ½ of the pasta, ½ of pasta sauce, ½ of sausage meat, ½ chopped ham, ½ of mozzarella cheese, 3 Tablespoons Parmesan cheese, ½ of sliced pepperoni.
7. 2nd layer- remaining pasta, sauce, sausage meat, chopped ham, mozzarella cheese, 3 Tablespoons Parmesan cheese, top with remaining pepperoni (completely covering the entire top with pepperoni).
8. Bake at 375°F for 40 minutes.
9. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

I used mild sausage but you could also use the spicy. |
If you have left over ham you could of course use but I purchased deli ham. |

I used 7 vegetable Primavera pasta sauce but you can of course use any pasta sauce. |

Thinly sliced pepperoni |
Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses |
Repeat in the same order except place the sliced pepperoni on top of the cheeses. |
