Ginger Sparkle Cookies

These are awesome cookies! At Christmas you can roll the dough and make gingerbread men or a gingerbread house. Please don't wait until Christmas to make these though, you will not regret it!!


Ingredients:

¾ Cup butter

¾ Cup shortening

2 Cups white sugar

2 eggs

½ Cup molasses

2 teaspoons ground cloves

2 teaspoons ground ginger

2 teaspoons cinnamon

2 teaspoons baking soda

4 Cups flour




Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a stand mixer or large bowll combine butter and shortening, beat.

Add sugar, beat.

Add eggs, beat.

Add molasses, beat.

Add all spices and baking soda.

Add flour, combine.

With a scoop or by hand roll into small balls.

Roll balls in sugar to cook.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 10-15 minutes.

Beat butter and sugar, add shortening and continue beating.

Add eggs, continue beating.

Add molasses.

Add spices and baking soda.

Add flour and mix well.

With a small scoop or spoon, form into small balls.

Roll in sugar.

Place on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake in 350 degree oven for 10-15 minutes.

Remove from sheet to a wire rack to cool.
