Spinach Dip

 This is one of our favourite appetizer recipes.  It has stood the test of time as our families have enjoyed this dip for a few generations!! It has bacon and cream cheese, need I say more??



 Ingredients:
½ Cup Mayonnaise
2-8oz or 250g cream cheese softened
1 Cup grated medium cheddar cheese
10oz or frozen chopped spinach(thawed and squeezed dry)
6 bacon slices cooked and crumbled
½ Cup chopped onion
2 teaspoon dill weed
¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Directions:

Beat mayonnaise and cream cheese together until smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients.
Hollow out a round of sourdough bread and scoop spinach dip inside. Wrap in aluminum foil and bake in a 350 degree oven until warmed through, approximately 45 minutes. Cut a baguette into bite size pieces. Once dip is warmed, place on a large plate and arrange bread around bread bowl.

Cook bacon until crisp. Drain fat. 

Beat cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth.

Drain excess liquid from chopped spinach.

Combine all dip ingredients togetjer.

Mix well.

Cut top off of bread.

Hollow out the bread to make a bowl.

Spoon spinach dip into the bread bowl.

Cover with bread top. Wrap completely in tin foil. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Bake until the dip is heated all the way through.

Cut up a french baguette into dipping sized pieces.

Taco chips are good dippers too.
