Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

These are so easy to make and will get gobbled up in no time. I like to use a Toblerone chocolate bar as the little crunchy toffee bits add a nice touch. The trick is to thoroughly dry the strawberries after washing them. The chocolate melts nicely in the microwave and then it is just a matter of dipping. If you have any leftover chocolate grab some bananas, call the family and dip every last bit of the chocolate up. I also use the Toblerone for chocolate fondue.

Ingredients:

4 lbs fresh strawberries

400 grams or 14oz Toblerone chocolate bar

Optional:1 Cup white chocolate wafers for drizzle

Clean and dry strawberries. Leave the stem attached.

Cut the Toblerone chocolate into small pieces and place in a microwave safe bowl.

Melt the chocolate in the microwave, times will vary depending on your microwave. Check often.

Be careful not to burn the chocolate!

Holding the stem dip the strawberries in the chocolate and lay on parchment paper lined baking sheets or you can use wax paper.

Melt the white chocolate wafers and using a small spoon drizzle a little over some of the strawberries. The higher you hold the spoon over the strawberry the smaller the stream of chocolate.

Put the strawberries in the fridge to allow the chocolate to set.

Arrange the strawberries on a platter. If you need to transport the strawberries, place a few toothpicks on the strawberries and then place plastic wrap over to tent the wrap until it is time to serve.

Eat the strawberries the same day you make them for best results.
