Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

These are so easy to make and will get gobbled up in no time. I like to use a Toblerone chocolate bar as the little crunchy toffee bits add a nice touch. The trick is to thoroughly dry the strawberries after washing them. The chocolate melts nicely in the microwave and then it is just a matter of dipping. If you have any leftover chocolate grab some bananas, call the family and dip every last bit of the chocolate up. I also use the Toblerone for chocolate fondue.

Nestle Original Toll House Cookies (Chocolate chip Cookies)

I have been making this recipe for the last 25 years, I found the recipe in the Edmonton Journal. I have read that Ruth Graves Wakefield invented the original chocolate chip cookie. She owned the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts, hence the name, which was a very popular eatery in the 1930's. She also wrote a popular cook book called "Tried and True Recipes".
These cookies are great with a big glass of milk!

Whole Wheat Sandwich Bread

This is a very good bread recipe that uses a bread machine to make the dough and a special pan called a Pullman pan to bake the bread in. The pan is 13x4x4 inches and it comes with a lid. The lid is placed on the pan just before the bread dough reaches the top of the pan during the rising or proofing stage. The lid prevents the dough from rising any further and the finished product is a perfect rectangular loaf of bread. This bread is perfect for sandwiches as it doesn't have the typical dome shape most homemade bread has. Once the bread is cooled simply slice it up and store it in a plastic bag. I bought my Pullman bread pan online and if you like making bread this is definitely the pan to have.

Corn Chowder

This is one of my favourite soups to make when the weather gets cooler. If I can find serving size bread bowls I hollow out the buns and serve the soup in the bowls. The soup seeps into the bread and it is so delicious. Corn Chowder
