Shrimp Cocktail Dip

This is a old classic dip that is always a crowd pleaser! I forgot about this recipe that I served many moons ago, until I was leafing through "The Best of Bridge" cookbook and came across it. I decided to make it for my daughter's Birthday party! It was a hit with the young and old!

1 (250 g) package cream cheese (8 oz)

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 cup seafood cocktail sauce (hot or mild)

2 cups mozzarella cheese, grated

1 (106 g) can small shrimp (4 oz) or 4oz thawed frozen shrimp

3 green onions, chopped

1 medium Tomato, chopped

1 medium green pepper, chopped

Directions:

Mix the cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise together till smooth. Spread onto a 12" serving platter or pie dish.
Cover evenly with seafood sauce.
If using frozen shrimp, thaw, rinse, and dry thoroughly.Chop.
Sprinkle evenly with mozzarella, then with shrimp.
Top evenly with green onion, tomato and green pepper.
Cover and chill until ready to serve - any kind of cracker or tortilla chips will be good.
I like serving with Ritz crackers.

ix cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise together until smooth.

Spread onto serving plate.

I only use frozen shrimp that I have thawed, rinsed, dried, and chopped. You can use canned shrimp if you like.

Sprinkle shrimp onto the cream cheese mixture.

Gently spread the Chili sauce on top of the shrimp.

Sprinkle freshly grated mozzarella cheese over top.

Sprinkle on green onions.

Top with chopped tomato and green pepper.

Chill until ready to serve. Serve with Ritz crackers.

  1. This recipe looks very similar to one a friend makes at her parties but does not want to share the recipe. I will make this for New Year's eve and see how close it is.
